Adult Female Dog - Mastiff: "Myra Mumpkin" in Brooks, Alberta
Type: Pets
Breed: Mastiff
Age: Adult
Sex: F
Size: L
Myra is a three year old Mastiff who has come a long way since being rescued. She is now a goofy, happy and super affectionate girl. Myra went form being afraid of everything and reactive to strangers to brave and confident.
That said, Myra is still unpredictable with strangers and much caution is needed when she is introduced to new people. She still needs work on her socialization. Once she bonds to you she is your best friend for life, your shadow and constant companion. Myra is amazing on a leash and knows her basic commands.
Myra's ideal home would be quiet one with low traffic from 'strangers'. It would be one with a family that understands that she will never be a dog park or social event dog. One where she would get lots of walks, maybe hikes or bike rides and fun play time (she recently has learned how to play and LOVES it!). Myra would love to be the only pet in your home.
Myra often goes for walks with many dogs - males, females. She ignores her fellow canines for the most part. She gets very nervous when they try to play with her, which is the main reason we think she should be a single pet. Though, with some work I think she could easily be in a multiple dog house.
Please do not hesitate to contact us about our Special girl to learn about her background or ask any questions.
