Hello, meet Schuester! He is currently being fostered in Maryland. There are a bunch of dog friends here and this active boy loves to play and run and jump in the yard with them. They do zoomies around the yard together, then come in and take naps on the pillow together. This stocky guy is 30lbs of solid muscle!
Schuester is very good with kids and lives with a 3 year old foster brother. He is very food motivated has already shown he's easy to train! He is so well behaved in all kinds of situations-- bathing, grooming, on a leash, with people... an all around friendly guy.
Schuester has had some skin allergies which were easily treated with a change in his diet. Whoever adopts Schuester will need to either feed him a home-cooked or a raw diet... no cheap kibble or he'll be right back where he started. He also has chronic dry eye which requires eye drops several times daily.
In foster care, Schuester has been great when it comes to house training. He doesn't chew or mark, but he does have a distinctive hound dog bark. Reinforcement helps him learn not to bark up or jump on others. He can get a little excited around other dogs, so he would do better as an only dog or with an easy going dog his own size.
He really is a special guy, with a unique look. If you adopt Schuester, be prepared to talk to a lot of people who want to ask questions, pet him... it's a good thing he's such a good sport about the whole thing. He's a people pleaser and just bursting with potential.
11/2/xxxx Schuester has started obedience class and his first class went really well. He is such a smart boy and picked up on the exercises after only two tries! We are excited to see how this super boy progresses.
